Ronaldinho Announced as New Rebellion Timepieces Ambassador with Upcoming Father & Son Duo

Ronaldinho x Calim Bouhadra CEO Rebellion

The worlds of football and wristwatches frequently collide with legendary players being highly sought after ambassadors for top luxury watchmakers. Think David Beckham and Tudor or Hublot and virtually any player you can imagine. However, there’s one player who has, until now, resisted the pull of Switzerland – the Brazilian megastar Ronaldinho. As of now he is the new face of Rebellion Timepieces and has announced a Father & Son project.

If you’re unfamiliar with Rebellion, they’re all about high end haute horological creations with insane designs, outlandish shapes and detailed execution. There’s the tonneau Re-Volt, the cylindrical Weap-one and bold Predator, each offering a unique take on Rebellion’s signature urban, technical aesthetic. It’s an aesthetic they share with that other brand footballers love, Richard Mille.

As part of the announcement, Ronaldinho visited the Rebellion headquarters in Geneva where he met with CEO Calim Bouhadra. Together they discussed plans for an upcoming Rebellion Timepieces project called the Father & Son, which will see Rebellion create custom watches for Ronaldinho and his son Joao Mendes, who also had a major announcement this week being signed by Barcelona.

What the new watches will entail is still a mystery. But considering the calibre of watches already in Ronaldinho’s collection from the likes of Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille (although he has been caught in the occasional controversy around being spotted with fakes) that it’s sure to be extraordinary.

More details at Rebellion.
