Vacheron Constantin Open “Explore All Possible Ways” Exhibition in London

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points

Vacheron Constantin has opened their new “Explore All Possible Ways” exhibition at their 37 Old Bond St boutique, which runs between July 20th and August 1st. As the name of the exhibit suggests, the exhibition focuses on Vacheron Constantin’s heritage of exploration across geography, culture and art. It coincides with Vacheron’s new Overseas Cardinal Points series, which is also dedicated to exploration.

The first of the exploration concepts that the exhibition features is geographic exploration. Early Overseas models in the exhibit are dedicated to Vacheron’s attempts to overcome landscapes and move away from dress watch fragility. However, this it also touches on the idea of creating specific watches designed for certain markets based on regional and preferences. The American 1921 captures the roaring twenties and open-road lifestyle of the west while intricate watches informed by Asian motifs were created for the east.

That latter idea is expanded on further through Vacheron Constantin’s cultural exploration. The Métiers d’Art collection is home to countless rare and beautiful watches that use traditional crafts. Chinese lacquer on a pocket watch, marquetery style mosaics of mother-of-pearl, micro-painting, sculpting, engraving and beyond can all be used to express culture.

The third of Vacheron Constantin’s areas of exploration is technical exploration. Advancements in horology, materials and case design have all played a significant role in VC’s heritage. On the chronometric front, watches like the Chronométre Royal competed in chronometry competitions and established Vacheron as a leading name in precision watchmaking. Meanwhile unusual “Shutter” wristwatches featured adjustable shutters across the face of the watch in order to protect it.

Discover all these watches and more at the “Explore All Possible Ways” exhibition at Vacheron Constantin’s Old Bond St boutique from July 20th – August 1st.
