The Tissot PRX is a pretty incredible watch. We’ve already delved into the model’s history but to summarise, this is a sub-£1k watch that can hold its own in terms of design and style against heavy hitters like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Patek Philippe Nautilus, Girard-Perregaux Laureato and IWC Ingenieur. To name but a few. Now Tissot have launched an expanded collection featuring new colourways for the Chronograph, Automatic and Quartz models.
Tissot PRX Chronograph Blue Panda
Kicking off the expansion is a new version of their high spec chronograph. It has a 42mm steel case in the signature style of the collection, meaning it has angular edges and an integrated bracelet. Of course, as this is a colourway update, the changes are centred around the dial. It’s a popular riff on the classic panda colourway known colloquially as the blue panda where the dial is silvery white and the subdials are blue. It sits nicely alongside the existing panda version while offering a more colourful interpretation.
Below the new dial is the Valjoux A05 H31 automatic chronograph movement with 60-hour power reserve. It’s a really solid chronograph movement that doesn’t inflate the price beyond reasonable levels. Speaking of, it’s priced at £1,620.

Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Ice Blue, Blue and Black
The bread and butter of the PRX line is the automatic Powermatic 80. It is an archetypal sports luxe watch with a tonneau case, 40mm diameter and robust steel construction. The dial is also inspired by motifs such as AP’s Grande Tapisserie with a repeating geometric pattern. Here, the pattern is presented in ice blue for the first time in the collection and it looks stunning.

As for the blue and black dial versions, they’re technically not new colourways, instead they are presented on new rubber straps that lean into the sporty side of sports luxe. As the name of the model suggests, they’re all powered by the Powermatic 80 movement with 80-hour power reserve. Price-wise they are £610.

Tissot PRX Quartz Full Lume, Blue and Black
Normally at Oracle Time we tend to focus on mechanical watches because, let’s be honest, they’re more interesting than a watch in which a battery does the heavy lifting. However, Tissot are one of the exceptions because they have such a strong link to the quartz movement and produce some of the nicest quartz watches around like the PRX Mint.
Now though, a new version of the PRX Quartz is here in the form of a full lume version. What that means is the entire dial is coated with SuperLuminova so that the entire face of the watch glows in low light conditions. It’s pretty spectacular looking, similar to concepts such as the Bell & Ross Full Lum or Tag Heuer Night Diver. Oh, and the blue and black versions are now available on rubber straps too. The PRX Quartz is priced at £330.
