The notion of an official, brand supported vintage and pre-owned collection available to purchase isn’t anything new. Rolex have their Certified Pre-Owned range and Jaeger-LeCoultre has The Collectibles series. Now IWC are joining in with the launch of “IWC. Curated.” Which will be available in the UK via their Battersea Power Station Boutique.
The watches in the collection are hand-picked by experts from the IWC Museum from across a breadth of IWC’s history. Each watch is then serviced and restored by IWC’s watchmakers using period correct components where possible. They’re then offered to collectors with an IWC International Limited Warranty, giving you piece of mind that you won’t be landed with a watch in poor disrepair with no protection should anything go wrong.

Each watch under the IWC. Curated label tells an important part of IWC’s story. For example, there’s an original Ingenieur SL Ref. 1832 designed by Gerald Genta as well as the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 3750, IWC’s first perpetual calendar by Kurt Klaus. On the pilot’s watch front, there’s the Navigator’s Wristwatch Mark 11 (Store Ref. No. 6B/346) produced for the British Royal Air Force in 1952.
While IWC has not confirmed the prices of these watches, you can generally expect to pay a premium for services like this compared to what you might find on other pre-owned and vintage sites such as Chrono24. However, given the rarity, exclusivity and condition of these watches, you’re unlikely to find models quite like this elsewhere. Not to mention the fact they’re pre-serviced and restored so you can start wearing them straight away, no faff or concern involved. It would be awesome to see a few more of their military models join IWC. Curated in future.
