If you have any kind of passion for vintage cars and any kind of internet connection – dial-up included – you’ll probably have run into Classic Driver. The definitive digital portal for all things classically automotive is an impressive 20 years old and the guys are celebrating in style, with the help of none other than Aston Martin.
Needless to say, the limited-edition versions of the DB11 has a throwback vintage feel. The car hasn’t just been draped in Classic Driver’s green and grey livery as you’d expect, but Q by Aston Martin has created an entirely new colour, combining 1960s charcoal grey with a pearly green tint.
Because this is still a very modern DB, the car’s fitted with a full carbon fibre bodykit, but hidden behind stunning Eifel Green lacquer, matched with similarly-hued leather trim across the interiors. The headrests even have the Classic Driver Logo embroidered into them as a final flourish.
We’ve seen plenty of website / brand collaborations in the past few years – Speedy Tuesday, Hodinkee and Revolution to name but a few. A car though? That’s a new level entirely.
Unfortunately, if you’ve not heard of Classic Driver until now you won’t be getting one of the Astons; they’re limited to 20 examples worldwide and are being earmarked for long-time supporters of the site.
Still, if you really were desperate for your own Aston Martin DB11 in the same vein, you could always go to Q yourself. Why have 1 of 20 when you could have 1 of 1?
