Last week Mercedes unleashed a new Vision 6 Cabriolet concept at the 2017 Monterey Car Week in Monterey, California. Just like its hard-top predecessor which first made an appearance at Pebble Beach last year, the 19 feet long, two-seater Cabriolet has been packed with 750-horsepower from its electric motor which will propel the car from 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds. The long bonnet and sloped rear, along with the navy blue and white colour scheme, are supposed to evoke the feel of a luxury yacht. This retro and nautical theme is continued inside with a custom-made fabric top featuring interwoven rose gold threads, wooden floor, crystal white nappa leather, illuminated buttons stitched into the seats and turbine-inspired dials with analogue-esque needles on a digital background.
Under the enormous bonnet you’ll also find storage compartments for a custom fitted suitcase, two umbrellas, silverware, and other picnic essentials. We’re glad they made such good use of the massive space.
The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet perfectly fills the niche of retro design coupled with uber-modern technology. Now we’re praying they’ll produce more than just one…
