Pierre Gasly has been a mainstay of the F1 scene since 2017, competing always for that top level performance he knows he is capable of and another shot at the podium. In the 2025 season his goals are supported by Alpine’s wristwatch partner, H. Moser & Cie. and as such the driver and watch brand have come together to launch a collaborative timepiece – the Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly.
Unlike the Streamliner Alpine Drivers and Mechanics Editions that were fully dedicated to the world of motorsport, the Pierre Gasly watch much more of a personal project that reflects the tastes and interests of the man himself. It’s the same difference seen between IWC’s Mercedes watches and their Lewis Hamilton watches – back when they were working together at least.

What that means in practical terms is that there’s actually very little F1 related features on the watch. It’s instead just a really nice red gold Streamliner with a chocolate fumé dial and 6 o’clock tourbillon. With the material, colour, gradient and model all picked out by Gasly. It’s shockingly restrained compared to the elaborate lengths H. Moser is willing to go to with some of their more extreme collaborations, such as when they teamed up with Studio Underd0g. By H. Moser’s own admission they presented Gasly with multiple options and alternatives for design elements and each time he refused them, sticking to his guns and putting elegance and luxury before anything else.

It is perhaps the best call Gasly has made all season. Because the resulting watch is great. It’s not often that you can describe a gold tourbillon watch as understated and yet it is. The curve of the 40mm cushion case is so smooth, that it feels unassuming despite what on paper should be its ostentation. Especially when paired with the brown rubber strap of the 100 piece limited edition. There’s also a more exclusive version in a limited edition of 10 pieces that features a gold bracelet and a ruby hour marker at 10 o’clock, which is the first and only reference to F1 as 10 is Gasly’s racing number.

Powering the Steamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly is the HMC 805 automatic movement with 72-hour power reserve. It’s visible through the watch’s exhibition caseback though arguably the most impressive part to watch is the dance of the double hairspring tourbillon on the dial side. The double hairspring design compensates for the shift in each spring’s centre of gravity as they coil and unwind, improving isochronism.

The 100 piece edition is priced at CHF 79,000 (approx. £73,300) while the 10 piece is CHF 125,000 (approx. £116,000). Certainly, pricy but for a full gold, double hairspring tourbillon limited edition collaboration, that’s not unexpected. Especially when it competes with watches like the Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto 79 for being the nicest rose/red gold sports watch around, which coincidentally is also CHF 79,000.
