Glashütte Original love a green watch. So much so that they made two last year, the Sixties Chronograph and the PanoMaticLunar. Putting aside chronographs and high complications, it’s now the turn of Glashütte Original’s adventure watch to get the green treatment, the SeaQ Panorama Date.
As with most recolours, structurally it’s still the watch we’re already familiar with. 43.2mm stainless steel case, 300m water resistance and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic insert. However, now the dial and bezel are in a shade Glashütte Original is calling reed green. It’s in the region of forest greens meaning it’s not so brilliant as emerald but is also more vibrant than olive or khaki.
It still houses the calibre 36-13, a great automatic movement with a superb 100-hour power reserve, magnetic field resistant silicon balance spring and bayonet mounting for shock resistance. It features hours, minutes and seconds as well as the German manufacture’s signature panoramic date at 4 o’clock.
Combining the high specs of the movement and case with the new colourway gives the whole piece a much more adventurous flair than previous diving versions, which is the impression given by the pre-existing blue piece. However, like the blue version, the new green one is priced at £10,000 with a variety of strap and bracelet options available.
