In 2025 Dennison introduced the ALD Dual Time, a funky take on the usual dual time concept that split the display in half down the middle by featuring two different semi-precious stones. It was so striking and unusual that we included it in our Best Dress Watches of 2025. For 2026 the series makes its return in a non-stone dial variant along with the introduction of modern Dennison’s first ever hour markers and numerals. The new edition is called the Dennison ALD Dual Time “Shades”.
Structurally the watch is identical to the previous edition, which is as expected. It measures 37mm x 35.6mm in a retro-TV shape produced in steel with a 6.1mm thickness. Rather than a complex GMT mechanism or dual time module, it uses the far simpler solution of housing two Ronda quartz movements that are set individually by separate crowns.

Where the Dennison ALD Dual Time “Shades” comes to life is the new display. In place of the previous stone dials is a monocolour dial that’s split down the centre between a light and dark shade. That split is further emphasised by one half having vertical brushed finishing and the other half horizontal. The colours available are brown, green and blue.

Dennison have also introduced their first indices with the use of hour markers and numerals on the dual time subdials. Building on the theme of the split display, one of the dials uses Arabic numerals while the other uses Roman numerals, creating a distinction between the two. It feels like if you were to overlap the dials you’d end up with a California style display. Stylistically the indices follow an Art Deco style that ties in nicely to the minimalist aesthetic Dennison use. This release also marks Dennison’s first bracelet, the Pebble Link, a rounded steel design with a concealed clasp that complements the watch’s soft, retro shape.

For pricing, the ALD Dual Time “Shades” is £615 on bracelet or £555 on leather strap. That’s less than the stone dial variants at £680, which makes sense because of the additional complexity and material costs of producing stone dials. To my mind it’s even more of a win because I prefer the “Shades” series due to the creative use of dial finishes and time display elements.
