The Pope gets plenty of presents. What else would you expect? The problem is that he can’t actually accept them. Still, that hasn’t stopped plenty of brands out there sending him things: the latest of which is phenomenal unique watch from Kerbedanz.
The watch in question is, as is becoming standard for Kerbedanz, a unique piece – this one dedicated to the Armenian alphabet. That might seem a bit random at first, but it makes sense; the Pope believes the Armenian people to be among the founders of Christianity.

The alphabet itself is laid thick on the dial in an entanglement of lines set on a blue dial with wave guilloche. The huge, 46mm chunk of gold hides a mechanical self-winding KRB-03 calibre with an impressive 120-hour power reserve. Not that the Pope is into things like that of course.
It makes sense; the leader of the faith has no need for worldly possessions. It makes things awkward, but it does make for an exceptional auction lot. Before it was a Pope-liveried Lamborghini (you can find more on that here), now it’s this Kerbedanz watch.

So, as with any gifts of this calibre, you can expect to see the Kerbedanz Armenian Alphabet at a high-profile auction sometime soon, raising money for one of the Vatican’s chosen charities. God knows what it’ll raise.
