When it comes to the Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch, there are two main approaches to new designs that Swatch have employed. The first are your standard releases such as last year’s Misson on Earth and second are the monthly exclusives connected to each full moon, which we first saw in 2023 with the original Mission to Moonshine Gold series. Now we have the Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold Harvest Moon.

It’s a follow up to the inaugural MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold last month, which was dedicated to the Sturgeon moon with a net motif decorating the moonphase complication. September is the Harvest Moon and so the moon motif is based on golden corn kernels with a box of popcorn in the centre. A fun combination of the harvest and a touch of whimsy that’s appropriate for a Snoopy edition.

Beyond the updated golden moonphase, this watch is exactly the same as the previous edition with its 42mm blue bioceramic (plastic) case, aventurine style accents and the titular earthphase function that displays an image of Earth as seen from the moon. It’s also priced at £335.

In terms of availability, it’s strictly available for one day, September 8th, the day after the full moon. As always, it raises the question about MoonSwatch fatigue and are people still interested in these launches? I think the answer is actually yes. While the MoonSwatch is undoubtedly a divisive watch, we’ve been living with it for over three years at this point and have become used to its presence, so its detractors are a lot quieter while people who love it are still excited by it. Plus, any watch that gets new people interested in watches and the industry can’t be entirely a bad thing.
