Tudor Release Pelagos FXD Chrono “Yellow” for Tour de France 2025

Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow

While the colour orange is closely associated with diving due to its hyper legibility, the colour yellow has always been connected to the top echelon of cycling. Specifically because of the Yellow Jersey worn by the leader of the Tour de France. After releasing a pink edition of the Pelagos FXD Chrono earlier this year for the Giro d’Italia, it’s only natural that Tudor would follow it up with the Pelagos FXD Chrono “Yellow” for the Tour de France.

The occasion for the launch is that Tudor ambassador and famous Swiss racer Fabian Cancellara is making a return to the iconic race. Though not as a rider this time, as a team owner instead. So while he won’t be wearing the Yellow Jersey, he’ll still have a splash of yellow in his outfit via the Pelagos FXD Chrono “Yellow”.

Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono Yellow

As you might expect, this is simply a yellow interpretation of the existing Pelagos FXD Chrono. Which means it has a broad 43mm diameter case made from high tech carbon composite, providing it both immense strength and lightweight properties, ideal for racing. It’s also a chronograph model with twin pushers flanking the crown allowing you to time race splits and time trials with ease.

The yellow accents can be seen via the bicompax chronograph subdials and the peripheral tachymeter that has been graduated specifically for cycling. The bright colour works nicely in combination with the black dial and case, making it stand out much more than the previous red or pink editions. In fact, it reminds me somewhat of the Tissot Tour de France watch. Now that Tudor have opened the door to the French race’s jerseys, I wonder if the sprinter’s Green Jersey or more entertainingly the Polka Dot stylings of the mountain climber might make their way to the Pelagos.

Powering the Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono “Yellow” is the manufacture calibre MT5813 automatic with 70-hour power reserve and COSC chronometer certification. It’s a more than solid movement and justifies, in combination with the carbon composite case, the £4,650 price tag. It’s also a limited edition of 300 pieces. The Tour de France begins this weekend on the 5th of July, with riders competing until the 27th.
