The MeisterSinger Perigraph is one of their most enduringly stylish watches thanks to its understated design and easy utility. For 2022 it’s been updated with two new colourways that emphasise its casual design.
Like all MeisterSinger watches, the Perigraph has a single hand that points to a peripheral hour scale. However, what makes the Perigraph stand out is the totally visible date ring that forms a belt around the centre of the dial. It makes the watch stand out to a greater degree than a conventional time and date model but not to the extent that it’s distracting on the wrist. A solid mixture of interesting and wearable, qualities that earned the Perigraph it’s first Red Dot Design Award and Good Design Award in 2009.
Now, the two signature features of the watch, the date ring and hour scale, have been highlighted in new colours set against a black dial. The two options available are Bordeaux and Petrol, which to anyone one not au fait with their colours is purplish-red and greenish-blue. To me they have a faint motorsport aesthetic to them, I could easily imagine a similar design as a chronograph, although that might be because I’ve just read the word petrol.
Priced at €1,890 (approx. £1,600) it continues to be a great choice of casual wristwear.
