After a sell-out collaboration with Italian architect Arturo Tedeschi last year, Mauron Musy are following up on their success with a second and final series in the Architect line. The new series consists of Architect of Golden Cosmos and Architect of Golden Oasis with each piece reflecting a distinct vision representing celestial and mineral inspirations, respectively.
The cases of both the Golden Cosmos and Golden Oasis measure 44mm in diameter and 13mm in thickness, crafted from Grade 5 titanium. Known for being approximately 40% lighter than stainless steel while maintaining comparable strength, the titanium construction allows for a good level of comfort despite the watch’s size, while also conceptually supporting the bold, industrial design of the case with its prominent lugs and brutalist shapes. It also provides a water resistance rating of 300m, which is much higher than you would expect from a watch so heavily invested in aesthetics.
As with the previous Architect, the display is partially openworked with a distinctive skeletonised motif occupying most of the face. Here, that framework is presented in red gold, hence the Golden appellation in the names of these watches. Below that framework, the dial of the Architect Golden Cosmos features meteorite while the Architect Golden Oasis showcases an oasis blue PVD dial. It’s these elements that convey the theme of the watches, one interested in outer space and the other with life-giving environments here on Earth.
Inside the Mauron Musy Architect models is the calibre MM01-SK automatic movement. Operating at a frequency of 28,800vph, it provides a power reserve of 55-hours. The movement supports central hours and minutes, with a small seconds display positioned at 9 o’clock.
For pricing and availability, the Architect Golden Cosmos is limited to 27 pieces and the Golden Oasis to just 10 pieces. Each model is priced at CHF 32,000 (approx. £30,900), which is a reflection of their exclusive status, gold displays and additional elements such as the meteorite dial on the Cosmos.
