It has finally happened. There is a new watch from the brand with perhaps the most cultish following of fangirls and fanboys out there. Enter the new Tudor Black-Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue. It’s Tudor’s first release of 2020 thanks to the plan-scuppering Covid-19 and we’re told that it will be their last.
Simply put, Tudor have added a fresh navy-blue colour scheme to their incredibly popular, vintage-inspired Black-Bay Fifty-Eight. Revolutionary it is not. However, the brand has clearly listened to fans for this release, which is a welcome move and something we hope that other brands take note of.
As well as the matte navy-blue dial and matching blue aluminium bezel, Tudor have also changed the yellow golds from the standard BB58 to silver to enhancing the contemporary look. On top of that, the faux-patina lume on the indices and bezel pip has been replaced with a fresh white Super-LumiNova adding to the overall crisp appeal.

Apart from those differences, the technical specifications remain the same. It stays at an ever-wearable 39mm in diameter, a touch under 12mm thick and features the contrasting brushed and polished surfaces with rose adorned screw-down crown. Beating away inside will be the MT5402, a thinner variant than the one used in other Black Bays, which is COSC certified, features a silicon hairspring and a power reserve of 70 hours.
The “Smurfette” will be available on three strap options, the standard riveted oyster bracelet (still without quick adjustment unfortunately) a new blue soft touch strap or on a grey fabric.
The watch will be available in authorised dealers from today ( July the 1st) and although it’s unlimited in production, as we saw from the release of the BB58 back in 2018, they’re likely to fly off shelves.
