Finally, after travelling the world with a number of city-specific limited editions, one of the coolest modern sports chronographs arrives in Britain. Say hello to the Singer Reimagined Track 1 London Edition.
If the black and orange of the Hong Kong edition were a punchy statement, the British version takes a far more subtle, nuanced approach to design. The 43mm lozenge-shaped titanium case alternates brushed and polished surfaces, moving in to the black local time indicator, the titanium tachymeter then, to cap it off, a sunray blue dial.
All the key elements of the watches’ signature layout are there with the phenomenal AgenGraph movement in full swing of course, with its central chronograph and peripheral hours. However the new colours make it the most elegant version of the Track 1 to date – not to mention the most wearable.
Not that many people will get to wear it of course. Flip the watch over and you can see the limited edition number engraved around the edge of the exhibition caseback: X of 50. Well, that’s if you can take your eyes off the rear view of the phenomenally-finished AgenGraphe movement itself.
Still, while it’s nice that we now have a version of the Track 1 to call our own, there’s a deeper reason for the London connection, and not just for our reputation as a horological haven for collectors.
From 5th September, Phillips Perpetual, the renowned auctioneer’s in-house boutique, will be the UK home of Singer Reimagined. This new piece is a timely tie-in to the new partnership. Better yet, it means that if you want to get hands-on with the Track 1 London Edition, all you need to do is take a trip to Berkeley Square… and hope it hasn’t sold out yet.
