Introducing: Rolex Sky-Dweller 2020

Rolex Sky-Dweller 2020

The Sky-Dweller might be the second most famous second time zone watch in the Rolex collection, but as impeachable as the GMT is, the gold-clad traveller’s watch is an icon in its own right. It’s always straddled the line between sporty and elegant with its punchy proportions and technical dial, and now Rolex is threading the needle between the two even more with the introducing of a new bracelet.

Oysterflex as a material isn’t new; it’s the watchmaker’s answer to rubber in all of their professional timepieces. This is the first time however that it has crossed the Iron Curtain between the Submariners and Explorers on the left, and the Day-Dates and Cellinis on the right. It’s a crossing that in this case is well worth the risk.

The bracelet itself holds a host of patents, but without getting too technical it’s one of the most comfortable, solid sports bracelets out there, a combination of ultra-resistant black elastomer covering a titanium and nickel alloy blade. It’s equipped with a Glidelock extension system for easy adjustment and an Oysterlock safety clasp for performance.

It’s a chunky look that works phenomenally well in its new Sky-Dwelling home – particularly the yellow gold, black-dialled number that’s understandable the new Rolex hero piece for the Sky-Dweller collection.
