Introducing: NOMOS Glashütte Tangente Sport Neomatik 42 Date Watches

Nomos Tangente Sport Neomatik 42 Date Watch

Nomos’ Bauhaus aesthetic and ethos are what have made them one of the most important brands in Glashutte. More recently however they’ve been expanding slightly into the world of sports watches and with it one of their coolest to date: the Tangente Sport Neomatik 42.

None of the minimal look has been sacrificed of course, that simply wouldn’t be Nomos Glashutte. However the new pair of timepieces do have a sturdier case than previously and with it an impressive 300m. That’s better than plenty of actual dive watches.

It also has a crown protector so, though that’s more for the sporty look than actually taking it underwater. The same can be said of the larger 42mm case, a good couple of millimetres bigger than usual. It’s a change for the better.

It also comes on Nomos’ second ever bracelet. Following the wrapped Milanese bracelet from the Club Campus (which we covered here) here is a sturdier, segmented version. It’s seriously cool and comfortable to match, consisting of 145 individual components. It sounds like a small change on paper, but it transforms the watch.

As for variations, the Tangente Sport Neomatik 42 comes in Nomos’ classic colourways of blue-black and silver white with charming contrasting hands on each. As a new addition to the Nomos collection, neither’s going to set the world alight. They do though expand the range nicely and are, just possibly, our favourite Nomos Glashutte timepieces to date.
