Hublot Launch New Yellow Gold Collection Including a Classic Fusion Chronograph

Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Yellow Gold

Alongside the new Big Bang Integral Time Only, Hublot have also introduced a swath of classics in updated 18k yellow gold cases. Hublot are known for their bold and often lavish approach to watchmaking, making their designs perfect for the Midas material. For once the Midas analogy is apt because all these watches existed previously, they’ve just been given that Midas touch.

To list them quickly, there’s new takes on Big Bang Integral 42mm, Big Bang Integral Pavé, Big Bang Integral Jewellery, Big Bang Unico, Classic Fusion Chronograph and the Spirit of Big Bang. Of the six watches, the standout is the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph, so that will be our focus.

Like all the watches here, it has an 18k yellow gold case with satin polish finishing. It looks great combined with the black rubber strap, matte black dial and black resin composite lower bezel. The contrast makes the gold stand out in a satisfying way without it losing any of the bold character of the Classic Fusion. The Classic Fusion has always been on the more refined end of the Hublot scale and it suits the luxurious material very well.

Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph

That’s perhaps unsurprising considering there are a dozen or more gold Classic Fusion Chronographs already in the range. However, those models are all in King gold, Hublot’s take on rose gold. Yellow gold is noticeably sharper, with a colder, greenish tint that feels fresher and slightly retro. The result is that the new Classic Fusion Chronograph and all the other yellow gold models Hublot have introduced are more eye-catching than their rose counterparts.

Pricewise, they’re at the more extreme end of things, ranging from £22,200 to £175,000. Although that top end belongs to the Big Bang Integral Jewellery, which has a diamond studded bracelet and 54 baguette-cut diamonds on its bezel, so yeah, it was never going to be in the same price league as the Classic Fusion at the other end.
