Fondation Haute Horology FHH Open Free Watch Makers Exhibition

The Fondation Haute Horology (FHH) is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, having been founded in 2005 by a partnership of Audemars Piguet, Girard-Perregaux and Richemont Group. It’s a non-profit organisation designed to promote and encourage people to discover watchmaking and the art of horology. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations they are exploring how to encourage women and GenZ to get involved in the industry. The first step towards that is the opening of a new interactive exhibition called Watch Makers, in Geneva, which is open from 27th June – 7th September 2025. Plus, it’s free to enter.

Watchmaking has a reputation for being stuffy and traditional, but the exhibition focuses on the fact that watchmaking is actually a creative art. It’s full of jewels, art and passion as much as it’s focussed on scientific and chronometric performance. As such, the exhibit is full of colour as it leads you through the varied processes that go into making a watch.

It offers the chance to get up close with the inner workings of a movement, the complexity of complications, craftsmanship and Metiers d’Art. Introducing you to concepts such as movement assembly and decoration, gem-setting, case engraving and marquetry. The experience makes use of both physical and virtual reality displays, keeping it fresh, modern and engaging.

The FHH is also celebrating its anniversary in other ways such as making the FHH Academy’s expert training videos available to purchase to the public, opening the door to new and independent watchmakers not just those associated with the foundation. They are available via the FHH Boutique ecommerce website.

As a reminder, the FHH Watch Makers exhibition is open from 27th June – 7th September 2025 with free admission. It’s located at Fondation Haute Horlogerie, Pont de la Machine, 1 Geneva – Switzerland.
