Fin Des Temps Custom Rolex Milgauss Rick and Morty Edition

New York-based watch customisers Fin Des Temps are best known for their elaborate engravings that add and extra layer of design to Rolexes and Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks. And for a recent Rolex Milgauss they’ve turned to pop culture for their inspiration in the form of a Rick and Morty edition.

If you’ve so much as brushed past internet culture in the last couple of years then you’ll know how dominant Rick and Morty have been in the zeitgeist. I’ve never watched the cartoon and yet I can still quote references to Pickle Rick, Szechuan Sauce and getting schwifty. For those who are less familiar with the program, imagine Doc Brown and Marty McFly on steroids and probably lots of other drugs as well.

The watch itself is engraved with numerous depictions of the characterful cast of misfits. Fin Des Temps have used a three tone colour palette of stainless steel, black and gold, which complements the vibrant blue dial of the Milgauss that has been left as standard. The body of the watch has been given a fairly simple design of golden splatters but where the engraving really impresses is the Oyster bracelet.

One section of the bracelet shows the titular characters in an iconic pose with Rick holding Morty’s eyes open surrounded by scientific equipment and Snuffles the dog. Then, on the deployment clasp, a full image of the aforementioned Pickle Rick. The final section shows more of Rick’s experiments. Fin Des Temps aim to is to push forward the art of hand engraving and their culturally relevant inspiration does just that.
