Chopard Release New L.U.C Flying T Twin White Gold and Blue Limited Edition

Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin White Gold and Blue Limited Edition

While Chopard are more renowned for their jewellery, they also produce some gorgeous watches for men and women, with the haute horological L.U.C virtually a watch brand unto itself. L.U.Cs are a step up aesthetically and mechanically from Chopard’s other watches like the Happy Diamonds, which rings especially true of their latest timepiece, the L.U.C Flying T Twin White Gold and Blue Limited Edition.

We’ve seen the L.U.C Flying T Twin before, as the original model (also a limited edition) was released in 2019, and now it’s back in a new colourway. The 40mm diameter ultra-thin case is now made from 18-carat white gold, instead of rose gold, and the gold dial is now blue. While it’s no less classical than its predecessor the lighter colours give it a fresher appearance.

The watch has an exquisite honeycomb guilloché around the central hand stack, with an open-heart flying tourbillon at 6’clock. It combines aesthetics and technical proficiency almost seamlessly, in both the execution of the finish and the calibre below.

Calibre 96.24-L COSC Chronometer-certified Automatic Flying Tourbillon Movement

Speaking of the calibre, it’s the same 96.24-L COSC chronometer-certified automatic flying tourbillon movement that was included in the original. It uses Chopard’s signature Twin technology to provide a 65-hour power reserve, which involves stacking two barrels. Plus, the finishing on the movement is immaculate with Côtes de Genève stripes. That mastery finishing is why the Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin White Gold and Blue Limited Edition has been awarded the Poinçon de Genève, a seal of quality.

Like the original version, this watch is limited to just 50 pieces, making it genuinely exclusive. However, the price is yet to be confirmed, although if it’s any indicator the previous version was around €109,000 (approx. £93,000), but with a change in materials on the new one we’ll just have to wait and see. Overall, the new colours are a nice addition to the watch that successfully avoid changing the DNA of the piece too much.
