Breitling Reveal Holiday Gold Capsule Collection in Time for Christmas

Breitling Gold Capsule

Take a trip to your local supermarket and they will no doubt have their Christmas décor in full splendour already. Thankfully my local is yet to crank out the Christmas playlist though they have been stocking mince pies since August. While I’m resisting it still, soon even the most humbug of us all will have to admit that the holiday season is just around the corner. Breitling are embracing the season already with the reveal of a new holiday gold capsule collection consisting of five special edition watches that will be available in early December.

The five watches in the collection are the Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41, Breitling Navitimer Automatic 36, Breitling Navitimer 32, Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 and Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph 40. What unites them all is the use of red gold for their cases, which gives them a warm tone that feels suited to the warm fireside glow of a Christmas morning – similar to the rose gold, festive photoshoot we produced a few years ago.

While they are united by the case material, each still retains a strong amount of individuality thanks to the dial colours. In fact, this is the first and only time that these colour and case material combinations will be available. The Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41 is brown with white subdials, the Navitimer 36 is green, the Navitimer 32 is brown with diamond indexes, the premier B01 Chronograph 42 is navy blue and finally the Premier B09 40 is dark green.

These are all well-established models in the Breitling oeuvre, classic designs reimagined in festive precious metal. For pricing they are between £8,850 – £17,950 depending on the model. Breitling haven’t provided specific limited-edition quantities, stating instead that they are available in ‘low quantities’ online and through specific boutiques. Which to me implies they will produce as many as they can sell in order to keep Santa’s elves as busy as possible, but maybe that’s just a cynic point of view. Perhaps I really am a humbug after all.
