Bamford x Thomas Pink Collaborate on Automatic Titanium GMT

Bamford x Thomas Pink Automatic Titanium GMT

There’s already a lot of precedent for cool collabs between watchmakers and fashion brands, along the lines of the seriously cool Zodiac x Rowing Blazers. Now it’s Bamford’s turn for a sartorially inclined timepiece with the launch of the new Bamford x Thomas Pink Automatic Titanium GMT. The watchmaker and the luxury shirt designer have come together to combine Bamford’s sporty wristwatch design with Thomas Pink’s signature refinement.

Similar to Bamford’s recent collab with Land Rover, the watch has a 40mm diameter case made from lightweight titanium, though in a cushion shape this time. It’s also been made thinner, with a thickness of 11.7mm, to make sure it fits snuggly beneath a shirt cuff. The use of titanium gives the piece a dark grey tone that complements shirts of any colour, while also leaning into Bamford’s sporty reputation with its scratch resistant properties.

In terms of the dial there are two versions available in either white or black, both of which are limited editions of 30 pieces. It features large rectangular hour markers, a minute track and a peripheral 24-hour GMT scale mounted on an internal rotating bezel. There’s a flash of colour present in the form of Thomas Pink’s signature colour on the seconds hand, GMT hand and triangle indicator on the bezel.

Underneath is a Swiss Sellita SW 330-2 automatic GMT movement with a 56-hour power reserve, displaying hours, minutes, seconds and second time zone centrally and the date at 3 o’clock. It’s a really solid movement with that Swiss reliability. It’s a shame it’s too accessible to warrant a British movement.

Speaking of which, both colourways of the Bamford x Thomas Pink Automatic Titanium GMT are priced at £1,700. They also come with two straps, fabric one and a rubber version, although the quick-change system is compatible with any Bamford strap. Amid Bamford’s extensive range of collaborations, this one stands out for its sartorial slant and retro modern aesthetic bordering on sporty.
