Talk to anyone in the fashion industry these days and they’ll likely tell you that comfort has become the most important attribute of any clothing. And comfort is what New York-based design label Gifted Elite’s Imperatives collection is all about.
The idea behind the name Gifted Elites is that every human on Earth has a gift, a unique talent and their clothing reflects the expression of those talents. However, while they’re known for their characterful hoodies and jumpers emblazoned with cool slogans and edgy graphics, they wanted to create a change of pace with Imperatives.

At the forefront of the collection are two t-shirts both made from premium pre-shrunk cotton that’s super comfortable to wear and is suitable throughout the day. The block colour designs are a toned-back approach that represents us in our day-to-day lives as well as when we’re at the top of our game, ready to show the world who’s boss. Let’s take a closer look at the two shirts.
First up is Gifted Imperatives Turq. The sky blue colour is incredibly attractive with an almost pastel quality. Paired with a dark jacket and maybe even Gifted Elites’ own snapback and it would look great for exploring the city during the day, whether that be New York or London, and heading straight to a lowkey club for the evening, or just plain going home to relax.
Secondly, there’s the Gifted Imperatives Coco, a sandy brown piece bordering on peach. And now that I’ve made the connection to sand, I can’t help but think this would be ideal for days at the beach matched with an equally light chino or shorts. As with the Turq, it has a split hem and the arm is adorned with the Gif__Ted logo.
Both Gifted Imperatives tees are priced at $50 (approx. £35) and are available from the Gifted Elites website. They also maintain an active presence on Instagram where they recently announced information about an upcoming pair of board shorts joining the Imperatives collection, so keep your eyes peeled for new releases.
