The frog is back – and this time it’s changed colour. Back in late 2025 we saw the original Unfrogettable “frog watch,” which launched as part of the Louis Erard x Chaykin partnership inspired by The Frog Prince fairy tale. Those green and purple dials have now been replaced by two new colourways: Turquoise and Brown, each limited to 178 pieces.
The Grade 5 titanium case is unchanged from the originals. At 40mm and 12.45mm thick, they feature the same grained dial that represents the rough texture of a frog’s skin, the regulator subdials for hours and seconds shaped like a frog’s eyes and the lacquered nostrils just below. It may look like a frog, but I wouldn’t put your hopes on it turning into a handsome prince.
The crown at 12 o’clock – shaped deliberately like an actual crown rather than the usual fluted knurl – remains the watch’s signature flourish, finished in polished titanium on Turquoise and warm PVD 5N on Brown. It’s quite sharp to grip but as it’s out the way at 12, you won’t have to worry about it being uncomfortable against the wrist.
What separates these new references from the original ones is their dials. Rather than green and purple we now get turquoise and brown. On the turquoise dial the hour ring pairs dark turquoise with purple, the two-tone minutes ring running deep blue-green into violet, with the lower plate – the frog’s “face” – kept in a lighter, grained turquoise. Rhodium-treated discs and hands hold the whole thing crisp, and green Super-LumiNova accents and a luminous minute hand tip gives it proper night vision rather than just decorative lume. Brown goes the other way entirely: a warm hour ring in dark brown and ochre, with 5N-plated discs and hands bringing a metallic, almost antique flash that reads more heritage – unusual territory for this watch.
Both are still built on Sellita’s SW266-1, the automatic regulator base that’s been rotated 90 degrees to work around that 12 o’clock crown – hours at 9, seconds at 3, an arrow-shaped minute hand sweeping the centre. 28,800vph, 31 jewels, roughly 38 hours of power reserve, and an openworked rotor carrying Louis Erard’s own black-lacquered symbol, visible through the sapphire caseback along with “1 OF 178.” Water resistance stands at 50m.
The black Himeji Kurozan leather strap- hand-rubbed, Urushi-lacquered, sourced from a historic Japanese tannery – carries over from the originals, with new trims to match the dials. Both sit on quick-release spring bars with a titanium pin buckle.
At CHF 4,500 (approx. £4,090) excluding tax, Turquoise (ref. 85340AA03.BVA192) and Brown (ref. 85340AA04.BVA193) cost exactly the same as the original green and purple pairing did in 2025. With 178 pieces of each, that’s 356 watches total, so if you missed the first run, this is a second chance. Hop to it.
