Christopher Ward has been supporting the Blue Marine Foundation since 2019 with 2% of Trident revenue being donated alongside funds raised through collaborative special editions. Overall, the watch brand has raised £750,000 for the marine conservation group. However, it’s been a few years since we’ve seen a new collaborative special edition, with the last one being the C63 SH21 from 2023, meaning we’re somewhat overdue a new one. Christopher Ward has delivered with the launch of the new Trident 30×30.
The name Trident 30×30 comes from the 30×30 marine conservation initiative that aims to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030 – according to statistics from the International Union for Conservation of Nature in April 2026, we currently have 10% of the oceans protected. Keeping with the theme of 30×30, £30 from every sale of this collaboration watch will be donated to Blue Marine Foundation, which as this is a limited edition of 500 pieces amounts to £15,000 once it has sold out.
For the watch itself, it’s a hybrid between the C60 Trident Reef and C65 Dune Aeolian, taking the case of the former and the dial of the latter. That means a 41mm diameter steel case with 200m water resistance housing a stamped, three-dimensional dial. Rather than ripples of sand on a dune though, the pattern now represents the waves of the ocean (similar to the Blue Marine logo). The shade of blue used across the watch is described as ‘parrot fish blue’, a light teal that creates the image of a fish’s faintly iridescent scales. Providing a spot of contrast are the red seconds hand and Automatic inscription at 6 o’clock.
Inside is the Sellita SW200-2 Power+ movement, the latest gen of improved Sellita calibres with a 65-hour power reserve. It also has a very respectable accuracy rating of -5/+12 seconds per day. Protecting it is a solid caseback stamped with a Blue Marine Foundation 30×30 motif. You can also see the limited edition number out of 500.
The Christopher Ward Trident 30×30 is priced at £895 on either a white or blue Aquaflex rubber strap, or £1,060 on a three-link steel Bader bracelet. In order to further raise awareness of the launch, CW are hosting an online giveaway across their Instagram where you can share a picture of an aquatic space that’s important to you in order to win a watch or camera. I really like this collaboration watch, it combines two of CW’s summer favourites in the Reef and Dune to create a colourful and visually exciting dive watch.
