Oris has released the Oris Hölstein Edition 2026, the seventh entry in the brand’s annual series marking its 1st June founding date. The watch is based on the Artelier collection that Oris revived at Watches and Wonders 2026. As with previous Hölstein Editions, production is capped at 250 numbered pieces.
Starting with the case, it measures 39.5mm in diameter with a thickness of 11.1mm, making it slightly slimmer than the standard Artelier model which is 11.8mm thickness. That size difference comes from the fact that the Oris Hölstein Edition 2026 is a time only interpretation of the watch, removing the moonphase subdial from the 12 o’clock position.
The theme for this watch is revealed first by the dial. It has a light grey colour that partially obscures the fact that the small seconds counter uses a mirror finish because the Oris Hölstein Edition is all about reflection. After 122 years, I think you’d have plenty to reflect on too. That’s paired with a red small seconds hand for contrast with applied hour markers drawn from a 1960s Oris archive style. The straight-sided hour and minute hands carry Super-LumiNova for legibility.
The caseback builds on the reflection theme. Oris worked with its innovation partner Inspire on a laser treatment that engraves the Oris Bear, the words ‘Hölstein Edition 2026’ and two concentric framing rings with a reflective appearance. The treated surface produces an iridescent rainbow effect when it catches the light, shimmering and shining.
Inside is the Oris Calibre 401, an automatic movement from the brand’s 400 Series. This is the first of the new-generation Artelier watches to use a 400 Series calibre. The Calibre 401 is highly anti-magnetic, carries a 120-hour power reserve and runs to an accuracy of -3/+5 seconds a day, which sits within COSC tolerances.
The Oris Hölstein Edition 2026 is priced at £3,550 in a limited edition of 250 pieces. It’s cool to see Oris expand on the new Artelier collection so soon after its initial release, especially in a new time only variant. The mirror finishes and light grey colour scheme complement its minimalist aesthetic well to boot.
