Discover Bespoke Artworks by The Dial Artist at Hands On Horology

The Dial Artist

Chris Alexander, known as The Dial Artist, has rapidly become one of the most popular wristwatch artists in the past decade. Combining street art, pop-culture, astrology and abstract expressionist styles, his work is often colourful and playful. Recently he has collaborated with brands like L’epee 1839, Holthinrichs, Bamford, Code 41, Awake, Spinnaker, Apiar and Split. At Hands On Horology on June 13th attendees will have the opportunity to meet him and witness the magic of his art first hand.

Priority Pass holders will have the opportunity to commission a custom dial artwork from Chris on a first come, first served basis – limited to 12 slots per session for a total of 24 personalised artworks. If you’re lucky enough to take part, you’ll be able to choose from a range of dials that include options from Studio Underd0g, Schaefer & Companions, Heinrich, Paulin, Sartory Billard and more.

Whether you keep the dial as an artwork or perhaps swap it into a watch, it’s a fantastic memento of the occasion with personal references such as your zodiac worked into the design. Chris’ approach to design is based on the idea that each unique artwork is a collaborative triad of Client, Artist and Watch. The most successful creations are those based on the client’s passions, Chris’ unique style and working with the dial not against it.

After graduating from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland with a Masters in Design, Chris built upon his experience gained in the academic and creative industries to found The Dial Artist in 2017. With over 20 years of experience in the creative industries Chris spent years experimenting with a vast range of paints, lacquers and techniques, honing his skills.

In addition to these custom artworks that are only available to Priority Pass holders, there will be the opportunity for everyone in attendance to walk away with a Dial Artist unique piece through the silent auction – one taking place in each session. The watches have already been produced, and we can now say they are the Selten M1 Moonphase and RZE Resolute. However, we will be doing a full reveal and review in the near future so I won’t say more at this time except that all proceeds from the silent auction will go to mental health charity Mind and London food distribution charity The Felix Project.
