Panerai Presents the Submersible GMT Skeleton with DMLS Titanium Case

Panerai Submersible GMT

Panerai has launched the Submersible GMT PAM01495, a skeletonised dive watch combining advanced titanium construction with high-level water resistance. The 47mm case uses Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology to create a Grade 5 titanium structure. This manufacturing process builds the case layer by layer from titanium powder similar to 3D printing, enabling more complex internal structures.

The DMLS construction makes this Submersible GMT approximately 25% lighter than conventional titanium cases. Furthermore, it offers more than 50% weight reduction compared to steel equivalents. The sandblasted titanium case features a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a matte blue ceramic disc. Additionally, the caseback uses titanium with a sapphire crystal window.

Inside sits the P.4001/S automatic calibre, which Panerai introduced in 2021. This skeletonised movement contains 341 components and operates at 4 Hz. The calibre provides a 72-hour power reserve through twin barrels with power supplied by an off-centre micro-rotor that preserves the visibility of the movement architecture.

The movement features a patented polarised date system at 3 o’clock. This technology keeps the date disc virtually invisible across the skeletonised dial, only becoming visible through the aperture. As a result, the date function does not obscure the mechanical components beneath. The GMT function displays a second time zone with a day/night indicator, controlled by an orange hand for enhanced visibility.

When it comes to legibility, the skeletonised dial structure incorporates applied indexes treated with Super-LumiNova. The minute markings and bezel dots emit blue luminescence, whilst other elements glow green. The dial uses a distinctive grid pattern inspired by maritime nets, referencing Panerai’s naval heritage. Meanwhile, the crown protection bridge reinforces the Submersible identity.

Water resistance reaches 500m, tested with an additional 25% safety factor. This rating allows the Panerai Submersible GMT to function during professional diving activities. Each individual watch undergoes comprehensive water resistance testing, including vacuum tests and pressure simulation.

The watch comes fitted with a blue rubber strap and sandblasted titanium trapezoidal buckle. In addition, the packaging includes a deluxe blue cherry wood presentation box. A second bi-material strap in black provides an alternative wearing option. The complete package also contains a screwdriver for buckle adjustment.

The Panerai Submersible GMT PAM01495 will be available exclusively through Panerai boutiques from May 2026. The watch is priced at £42,100. This represents Panerai’s continued development of titanium DMLS technology, which the brand pioneered in watchmaking with patents dating to 2012.
