Across 2025 Vacheron Constantin have been celebrating the brand’s 270th anniversary. Starting with the award winning Historiques 222 in steel and flowing through numerous horological creations to the stunning Quest. Now, to bring the anniversary year to a close in style, they are launching the new Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin.
The big story here is that these are the first specifically unisex 36.5mm Traditionnelle watches. Previously every 36.5mm Traditionnelle has been a jewellery watch with a gemset bezel, but no more (and about damn time). Two of the three watches in the new series feature clean metallic bezels for the first time in the collection’s history at this size. Those are the white gold and pink gold editions, with the third watch in the collection being a diamond-set variation of the white gold piece.

The case itself is incredibly elegant with polished finishing and those slim proportions inspired by the 1980s of 36.5mm x 8.43mm. The standard versions featuring a smooth, curving bezel and unfussy lugs that lead into an alligator leather strap, the traditional accompaniment to a precious metal dress watch. The diamond version is instead dressed in 76 brilliant-cut diamonds across the bezel and lugs.

All three watches feature silver tone opaline dials with full perpetual calendar displays. Hours and minutes sit in pride of place at the centre of the dial while months and leap years are at 12 o’clock, date at 3, moonphase at 6, and days at 9. As it’s a perpetual calendar, if it’s kept wound then it won’t need adjusting until the turn of the century – something that today’s new generations of people will probably get to see.

Powering the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin is the Calibre 1120 QP. It measures just 29.6mm x 4.05mm in order to fit inside the Ultra-Thin case, even with an automatic rotor adding to its bulk. Its diminutive size does mean the power reserve is fairly low at 40-hours, meaning you’ll probably want to invest in a good watch winder if you don’t want to be resetting the calendar complication all the time after wearing a different watch for the weekend.

As for pricing and availability, the standard white and pink gold models are £84,500 while the diamond edition is £87,500, which is not as big of a jump as I would initially expect. They aren’t limited editions, however only models produced this year will feature the special 270th anniversary emblem.
