Teddy Baldassarre has been one of the most prominent voices in the online watch space for almost a decade at this point, bringing interviews, reviews and more to his 1.35 million subscriber audience. Now he’s thrown his hat into the watch design ring with his first collaboration watch, with everyone’s favourite coffee inspired microbrand, Brew. Fittingly called the Brew Metric Teddy Baldassarre Edition 36mm.
Aesthetically they’ve opted for subtlety over a brash marketing push. There’s no Teddy branding on the dial and rather than a gimmicky colour scheme they’ve used multiple shades of calming blue. It feels like one of Teddy’s classy suits from his videos, well cut and clean. Specifically, the dial is a shade of dark blue with a matte finish, paired with a light blue handset and matching 60-minute chronograph subdial.

The hands have also been slightly redesigned to make them sharper and a touch elongated. Again, it leans into the clean cut of the design. Even the chronograph scale around the peripheral edge of the display has been pared back with the signature espresso timer at 25-35 seconds presented in silver.
Structurally the case measures 36mm in diameter with its regular cushion shape design and integrated bracelet. Below the surface is the Seiko VK68 Meca-Quartz hybrid, a widely used chronograph movement that makes use of a mechanical chrono and a quartz regulator in order to provide the best of both worlds. It also helps make the watch nice and accessible at $475 (approx. £360).

Overall, the new watch is a super subtle collab that works really well based on its understated use of colour and shape. If you do really want to show off your Teddy subscriber loyalty, the solid caseback features a dual Brew Teddy logo engraving. It’s also a special edition rather than being limited so in theory all of his 1.35 million subscribers could pick one up.
