Citizen Launch Unite with Blue Limited Collection Featuring Six “Sea of Silence” Watches

Citizen UNITE with BLUE

Supporting environmental conservation projects is something near and dear to the heart of many watch brands, raising awareness of key global issues. In aid of that, Citizen periodically produce a limited edition collection known as Unite with Blue, aimed at bringing attention to the world’s oceans. In 2023 it was a three watch collection with cool, mottled green-blue dials but for 2025 they’re going bigger than ever. The new Unite with Blue collection features six watches with a deep blue colour inspired by the “Sea of Silence” concept.

The term “Sea of Silence” often refers to the deep expanses of the open ocean. A vast, empty realm far enough below the surface that the impact of the waves above are barely felt and encounters with wildlife are infrequent. What animals are encounters are often giants like whales, sharks and rays. It’s also a warning though, that without proper management and conservation efforts, all of the world’s water systems including reefs, rivers, seas, oceans and deltas will one day fall silent.

As for the watches in the collection, they are drawn from across the breadth of Citizen’s well established Eco-Drive models. The choice of Eco-Drive being significant because the use of light to power them promotes clean energy. The specific models available are the Attesa tricompax with Cal.F950, Attesa three hand with Cal.H145, Promaster with Cal.E365, Citizen chronograph with Cal.E660m, Citizen xC with Cal.H060 and lastly the Citizen L with Cal.E031. Those last two are the ladies editions with petite dimensions and lab grown diamond indexes.

What all six of the Unite with Blue “Sea of Silence” watches have in common is the dial colour. The colour is created using an ink with no pigment, which means that it’s the interaction of the light passing through the ink (which is how it reaches the receptors to charge the Eco-Drive movements) and reflecting off of its crystal-like structures that creates the blue colour. In fact, the precise hues and shades will actually shift depending on the lighting conditions.

In terms of pricing and availability, each of the six watches is different. The Attesa tricompax is £1,495 with 2,400 pieces, the Attesa three hand is £895 with 2,000 pieces, the Promaster is £549 with 4,800 pieces, the Citizen chronograph is £499 with 5,500 pieces, the Citizen xC is £795 with 1,200 pieces and the Citizen L is £449 with 2,000 pieces. In short, if you want one, you can probably get one. My personal favourite is the Attesa three hand, I like the angular case design while also showing off that signature “Sea of Silence” dial the best.

  • I have a Citizen military watch, the best, toughest, most accurate and reliable watch that I have ever owned in 55 years of owning watches, incuding Rolex, Longines and Omega, all of which were grossly inferior to my Citizen… AND costs hundreds of times more
