It seems that the season of the smartwatch is far from over, with one of the biggest players in fashion – and a not insignificant one in the watch world – joining the technological fray. Based on their flagship watch collection, the Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon is more than just a smartwatch starting point as well.
Priced from £2,140 it sits at the top of the tree when it comes to pricing and, being Louis Vuitton certainly has marks for style too. It has the narrow, 24-hour bezel that the Tambour is known for along with its signature lugs and perfectly rounded case. Unlike most smartwatches it’s also available in several case colours providing a good bit of variation between models.
Of course, most of that variation comes from the tech itself and the number of customisable layouts available. Powered by the latest AndroidWear OS, the apps are all aimed squarely at travellers. City guides, flight times, a compass, the Horizon allows you to download everything you could need to navigate your way around the world, more than living up to its name.
The different dials and styles are the major selling point here. They’re customisable of course, but they’re all instantly-recognisable as Louis Vuitton, even if you don’t splash the normally canvas-bound monogram across it and look stunning on the AMOLED display. The result is by far the coolest luxury smartwatch around. Sorry TAG Heuer, it had to be said.
