Watch Focus: Nomos Glashütte Metro 39 Silvercut

Nomos Glashutte

Nomos has quickly gained a loyal following over the years thanks to a real dedication to design. Inspired by Bauhaus, their pieces are consistently restrained, although subtle design quirks, which show imagination and skill, will make you look twice. While the fine watches are produced in Glashütte, the in-house creative agency is located in Berlin, capital of cool. Renowned designers and artists gather here to create everything from websites to short films and the watch designs themselves. This vast cultural capital that goes into every new release means the announcement of a new collection is always worth getting excited about, and thankfully, the Nomos Metro Silvercut doesn’t disappoint.

Nomos Metro 39 Silvercut (£3,080)

At first glance it is as understated as we have come to expect, with a flawlessly clean face and minimalist markers. Look closer though and you can spot the details, with clever use of colour and a gently shimmering gold and rhodium-plated dial catching the eye. The DUW 3001 movement, built in-house, is just as impressive and boasts a respectable 42-hour power reserve; nomos-glashuette.com
