CATERHAM SIGNATURE

Caterham Seven Lotus

Most will know of the Caterham Seven’s Lotus lineage. However, just over a year ago, the British sportscar maker celebrated the launch of its bespoke personalisation programme, Caterham Signature, by teaming up with Harrods to create a special 420S finished in the store’s colour scheme. Being a hand-built vehicle, the Seven lends itself nicely to customisation. Options available through the Signature service range from having your name embroidered on the upholstery to wild paint colours. The world is your open-topped, two-seater lobster. GOLDMUND

Goldmund Speaker

Swiss audiophile favourites, Goldmund, not only produce outstanding hi-fi equipment, but they will customise it for you too. Their custom shop will pretty much do whatever you ask, for a premium over the standard retail price naturally. This could be anything from 25% to 100%, depending on options. For instance, a pair of red anodised Satyas would be 25% over the standard price (from £100,000 to £125,000). Of course, there’s higher prices for coloured or plated frames, lacquered paintwork, patterned grilles and wood veneer on metal – the sky (and your bank balance) is the limit. RITTER GUITARS

Ritter Princess Isabella The Blue Dragon Guitar

Craftsman, Jens Ritter, has been described as being “very talented” by the late, great Prince. I really could just leave it there. However, my editor needs more than that. Providing instruments to the likes of George Benson and Mary J Blige, as well as his Royal Purpleness, Ritter’s ability to create instruments with incomparable design, wonderful sound and outstanding playability goes without saying. Furthermore, looking through his creations, they are not only avant-garde musical statements but also pieces of contemporary art. Needless to say, prices vary for custom creations, while it’s very much a case of prices on application for instruments ready to buy. More at: ritter-instruments.com
