Stefan Kudoke Heads Under the Sea With The Free KudOktopus

There are few things as intricate as fine engraving – and nothing as impressive as Stefan Kudoke’s take on the medium. He loves it almost as much as he loves animals. First there was the Panda (which we spoke about here) and now there’s the even crazier Free KudOktopus.

The entire dial has been openworked to form the cephalopod, whose tentacles arch across each and every bridge, all housed inside a 42mm steel case. Even the blued hands are part of the creature, which stretches across the front, back and sides of the watch.

The octopus itself is in white rhodium in order to bring it to the foreground, contrasting with the darker, almost gunmetal elements of the hand-wound Unitas movement. Not that it needs much help; the lifelike engraving is hard to take your eyes away from. Still, priced at 10,100 Euros (just over £8,800) the KudOktopus is definitely not Free; www.kudoke.eu
