In the admittedly niche world of retailer exclusives, Bucherer are hard on the heels of Harrods with their Blue Collection, especially with their latest Piaget-flavoured addition, the Piaget Polo S Bucherer Blue Edition.
The watch isn’t the usual face of Piaget. In fact, the Polo almost shares more in looks with Patek’s Nautilus (minus those odd flanges) than their flagship Altiplano. That’s no bad thing. It’s a bold and beautiful design for a sports watch, with a nice contrast on the guilloche dial courtesy of that trademark Bucherer blue and rose gold highlights.
The 1160p movement inside is a fantastic automatic chronograph that, with a rotor embellished with the Piaget crest, is worth looking at every chance you get. Even that’s blue.
As the 17th entry into Bucherer’s ever-growing list of exclusives (and replacing the previous, sold-out Altiplano) the Piaget Polo S Blue Edition is a statement of intent. With just 100 examples though, it might be a short-lived one.
