Purity, minimalism, restraint… H. Moser is all but obsessed with their own definition of understated refinement. The same aesthetic ideals are touted by plenty of other watchmakers, but often to the point of dull. Moser on the other hand manage their own perfect balance. Just take a look at the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Purity Cosmic Green.
On paper a plain green dial without even a name and a simple case should make for a dull watch. In reality it’s beautiful, with the sleek gradient of that fume green. What’s more, it’s also a perpetual calendar.
It might not look it at first. Sure, there’s a date window but that’s surely all? Look a bit closer though and you’ll see a tiny central hand that’s all too easy to miss. This is the hand that tells you the month, read like the invisible hours.
Really, that’s all you need. No multitudes of subdials and chapter rings springing up everywhere, just one extra hand and a date window. Restrained doesn’t even begin to describe it; Moser’s perpetual calendar is positively Spartan – and it’s all the better for it. If less is more, this is most.
