Boisdale: Mayfair’s First Vinyl and Cocktail Bar

Boisdale Vinyl

Boisdale might not be the first place you’d go to get some hipster cred, but that’s now set to change – for the upper echelons of hipsterdom at least – thanks to Mayfair’s newest (and only) vinyl and cocktail bar.

Boisdale Vinyl

Nestled in the wonderfully dark confines of Boisdale’s basement, the concept is essentially a room-sized jukebox, with LP covers dotted across the walls. It’s an eclectic enough collection that you’ll always find something you like and all you need do is point.

Boisdale Vinyl

The sound hits via Devialet’s phenomenal Phantom speakers which produce music almost as arresting as the bar’s rather delectable cocktails. Whisky, low light and jazz on vinyl; what more could you want?

Legend has it that Sam’s first word was ‘escapement’ and, while he might have started that legend himself, he’s been in the watch world long enough that it makes little difference. As the editor of Oracle Time, he’s our leading man for all things horological – even if he does love yellow dials to a worrying degree. Owns a Pogue; doesn’t own an Oyster Perpetual. Yet.
