One part super-cool, track-obsessed design, one part inventive mechanics from an industry great, the new Singer Track1 Hong Kong Edition is one hell of a watch. A sportier, more performance-led version of the model, the case is clad in black ceramic, combining lightweight aluminium with the harder, more scratch resistant and considerably heavier material.

The watch has the same dimensions as the previous gold and titanium models – namely a 43mm by 13mm oval. It also has the same movement, an ingenious central chronograph by Agenhor, the same guys behind Faberge’s excellent Visionnaire.

The only real difference in fact is that carbon-aluminium case and the black and orange colourway. Let’s be honest though, that’s enough. If you’re going for that pure racing feel, then you need to go all the way – the Track 1 Hong Kong Edition has done just that.
At CHF 44,500 (roughly £34,000) it also has the price tag to match.
