A Bathing Ape is turning 25 and to celebrate the streetwear giant is collaborating with UGG, adidas, G-SHOCK, Formula One, Barbie and, of course, Bell & Ross in the camouflage clad BR 03-92.
We were teased the BR 03-92 with a video of a camouflaged plane with the watchmaker’s signature on one wing. Good news: it’s exactly what we were hoping for. Based on Bell & Ross’s flagship square case, complete with the vintage cockpit aesthetic, this version has a distinct BAPE twist.
Most obviously, that’s the streetwear brand’s favourite camouflage pattern, complete with the ape mascot hidden in among the colours. Their actual logo is at 6 o’clock and, just above, their tagline of Apes Together Strong.
There’s nothing ground-breaking about the collaborative timepiece; it contains the same automatic mechanical movement as the other models in the collection. It has no complications to speak of and even the case is pure Bell & Ross. But that of course is no bad thing.
It might not be revolutionary, but this is a seriously cool watch made for a seriously cool partnership – and really, what more could you want?
