I agree with some of your comments re: the FF design, and Blancpain may have, too; that may have been the reason why they have created the Bathyscaphe which, I think, is a far superior design to the original FF - see the Ti23 model 5000-1210-98S as a case in point; as to the ever recurring comparisons with the Rolex Sub: these are worthless since, in terms of materials, specs, execution, calibre finishing and of course design, these are completely different watches (and I do think the FF Calibre 1315 speaks for itself); as a final note, for a "luxury desktop diver", I personally prefer something more unique and rare like the FF (Bathyscaphe or not), over the Rolex Sub which (almost) every Tom, Dick, Harry (and Sally) wear ...
