A. Lange & Söhne have been around since 1845 but despite their rich history they only launched their first boutique in 2007. To celebrate this 10th anniversary, the German brand has revealed a new limited-edition watch based on their iconic 1815 model.
The Dresden-based boutique sits directly opposite one of the city’s most famous buildings, the Frauenkirche, and as tribute they have engraved the landmark on the caseback of the 1815 Cuvette “Dresden” Limited Edition.
The engraving is positioned on a hinged “Cuvette” (dust cover) on the back of the watch which can be opened to reveal the in-house, hand-wound calibre L051.1 manufactured at their factory in Glashütte. Boasting a power reserve of 55 hours and a beat frequency of 3Hz it resonates with the quality that A. Lange & Söhne have come to embody.
True to A. Lange & Söhne’s subtle form, the dial has been left unchanged and remains faithful to previous 1815 models (why fix what isn’t broken).
The 1815 Cuvette “Dresden” will be limited to 20 pieces in total (10 in white gold & 10 in pink gold). It will only be sold at A. Lange & Söhne’s Dresden boutique with a price of €29,900; www.alange-soehne.com
