Bell & Ross x Cortina Watch BR 03-92 “Demiurgas” with Khaki Green Dial

Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Demiurgas with Khaki Green Dial

The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver bronze doesn’t just show that Bell & Ross’s iconic square watches are suited to more than cockpits; it’s also one of the coolest diving watches around. Now, like all the big horological players, it also has a retailer exclusive edition, this time for Singaporean seller Cortina Watch.

The Demiurgas – Greek for “Creator” – has been built to celebrate 15 years of partnership with Cortina Watch. That’s a huge chunk of Bell & Ross’s lifetime, so it’s certainly worth celebrating with a special edition.

The watch itself combines the copper/tin bronze – a much redder combination than most – with a military khaki dial. Over time that dial will start to match nicely with the greenish patina of this particular bronze.

The dial is as tried and true as any dive watch. Big, clearly legible indexes complete with lume, a simple, three-hand layout and a diminutive date at 4:30, it’s simple and effective. Sure, the hands are unusually bronze too, as is the unidirectional rotating bezel, but they add to the innate steampunk feel of bronze, as does Bell & Ross’s locking crown guard and those signature case screws.

Other than the colourway however, the Demiurgas has the same specs as the standard BR 03-92 Diver. That’s no bad thing: the magnetically protected BR-CAL.302 is a solid piece of work and the 42mm case is water resistant to 300m, matching all the necessary specs for a professional, ISO 6425 diver.

There is one final difference, and it’s more about how you can get it: it’s only available online. That means that the only way you’re trying it on it on Cortina Watch’s in-store iPads. Don’t fancy a trip to Singapore for that? Just try the normal Diver and imagine a green dial. The Demiurgas will wait; for once, it’s not like it’s a limited edition or anything.
