Johnnie Walker’s done plenty to bring blended Scotch to the world, so you can assume they have some serious stores of casks squirreled away under the Scottish Highlands. Now it looks like they’ve been breaking into their reserves for the launch of their new 50-year-old liquid. The John Walker Masters Edition uses six, exceptionally-rare whiskies from distilleries that existed when the brand was still young and John Walker himself still walking. Five of those six no longer exist, so this is a rarity, triple-matured for half a century or not. This is a dram not to be missed.

Tasting Notes: Surprising blackcurrants and citrus notes give way to rich, dark chocolate and coffee, with a gentle, smoky finish. It’s complex, intense and exceptionally well-balanced for a whisky of this age – just what you’d expect from Johnnie Walker.
Price: $25,000 (US) per bottle
