ArtyA Releases the Complexity

ArtyA Complexity

ArtyA Genève has unveiled the ArtyA Complexity ahead of Watches & Wonders 2026, featuring two inclined tourbillons positioned at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock. This configuration represents a world first in horological history. The watch uses a differential system to balance energy distribution between the two regulators, creating what the brand calls a “kinematic average” to optimise chronometry across all positions.

The case measures 42mm x 48mm x 13mm and is available in two materials: transparent sapphire or ruby. Both versions feature an organic form with triple-concave flanks and integrated sapphire domes at 12 and 6 o’clock that function as magnifying lenses for the tourbillons. ArtyA has been working with sapphire cases for over 15 years and this construction requires more than 120 hours of machining plus 140 hours of polishing.

ArtyA Complexity

The ArtyA Complexity runs on the proprietary Complexity-01 calibre, developed in collaboration with Purtec Sàrl. This manual-winding movement contains 287 components and 44 jewels, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). Additionally, the movement provides 50 hours of power reserve. Each inclined tourbillon completes one rotation every 30 seconds, rotating in opposite directions.

The dial is available in two finishes: Griffe or Matte. The Griffe version features 3D point-cloud engraving that creates radial scratches from the centre, whilst the Matte dial uses uniform shot-blasting for a velvety texture. Both dial types are offered in anthracite or silver colours. Furthermore, the applied indices are hand mirror-polished on both versions.

Movement finishing includes fine sandblasting across the entire calibre, with hand-polished bevelling on all chamfered edges. The 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock flanks receive an étired cabron treatment for a characteristic satin texture. Meanwhile, laser engravings are highlighted with matte black lacquer across the movement components.

The watch pairs with an integrated rubber strap that coordinates with the case colour. ArtyA fits the strap with its proprietary deployant clasp. The crown is faceted and cut from the same crystal material as the case, maintaining visual consistency throughout the design.

The ArtyA Complexity is priced at CHF 190,000 (approx. £180,000) for the sapphire version and CHF 220,000 (approx. £208,000) for the ruby variant. Production is limited to nine individually numbered pieces. It’s certainly one of the most spectacular pieces of architecture ArtyA have achieved and that’s saying something.
