On 10th December we decided to get a little festive for our final Oracle Time Members Event of the year, and who better to host than Christopher Ward? The iconoclastic British brand has recently opened their first London showroom, and our members were among the first to see everything it had to offer.
In conversation with Oracle Time’s editor Sam (and with a glass of British sparkling wine in hand) Christopher Ward CEO Mike France looked back at what has been one hell of a year for the brand. We here at Oracle Time have been working with the brand for over ten years now, from the early days of accessible dive watches to 2025’s seminal Loco. So for both of us it was a chance for some rose-tinted reminiscing.
However, In the present, members were able to get hands-on with the now sold-out Alliance 02 pocket watch, a collaboration with Studio Underd0g, just hours before it went on sale. It’s the kind of watch you need to hold in your hand to appreciate – which is easier when the other hand is holding a mince pie.
Author Ken Kessler (yes, a very close relation to our own Editor) was in attendance, signing copies of his new book, Compendium, published by Christopher Ward. After a sold-out first run, the book’s now onto its second, so if you’re looking for a last-minute Christmas present for a watch lover, give it a go.
But what’s Christmas without the ghosts of past, present and future? Mike decided to surprise everyone in attendance with a sneak peak of Christopher Ward’s upcoming January release – under embargo of course. While we can’t tell you exactly what it is, it’s going to be a lot of fun. If you’re desperate to know, I’m afraid you’ll just need to make sure you’re at the next Oracle Time Members Event.
