This is why we love Junghans. Any of their watches could be dubbed value for money, but no collection epitomises that classical look for an apparently miraculous price like the Meister collection.

In the case of the Chronoscope, you could be forgiven for trying very hard to find a problem. It just seems a bit too good to be true. The handsome classicism of the 1960s, the decent automatic calibre… even if nothing’s breath-taking at first glance, it ticks all the right boxes. You could ask a hell of a lot less from a watch priced at £2,020 (or £2,120 for the gold PVD version). Maybe there’s a reason it’s limited to 200 in stainless steel and 100 in PVD coating.
