Bravo Gradient Watch Box Review

Bravo Gradient Watch Box

Watches, as much as we like to describe them as tools or being utilitarian depending on their designs, are luxury items. And as such they need to be cared and looked after as luxury items. Which means storing them safely and securely in a manner to avoid scratches and damage. The simplest and most effective way to do so is invest in a quality watch box purpose built to store watches. Exactly like the Bravo Gradient Watch Box, which I have here for review.

There are four versions of the Gradient Watch Box though I only have two of them here, the Pool Party and the Moss Green. They both measure 24.5cm length x 17.0cm width x 7.5cm height and can store up to eight watches each. At that size they’re ideal for a growing watch collection, giving you room to expand, or if you already own a lot of watches, compressing the amount of space all that packaging takes up.

They’re secured by a wraparound zip across the centre that’s colour matched to the leather exterior. The Pool Party edition features a navy blue Nappa leather that’s smooth to the touch with a nice amount of cushioning on the top. By comparison the Moss Green is made from Togo leather, which has a coarser grain and a more overt pattern that’s very pleasant to run your fingers over. It’s presented in a shade of olive green.

Opening up the boxes, the internal structure is identical aside from the colours on display. They both feature eight slots for your watches with compressible suede cushions that can fit straps and bracelets of any size. What makes them stand out from other watch boxes is that instead of being monotone, the cushions feature a selection of four colours in a thematic gradient, hence the name Bravo Gradient Watch Box.

The Moss Green edition is a gradient of nature inspired colours that you see in mosses and lichens, running from a sandy white to khaki, olive and dark green. The Pool Party is much more vibrant with its shades of canary yellow, pastel pink, turquoise and pale blue. The main suede interiors of the boxes use the second lightest tones as their primary colour, so the khaki and turquoise respectively.

Focussing in on the watch slots a bit more, they really are well sized and versatile. They house big dive watches just as easily as petite dress watches. I also like they the cushions are just push fit, using friction to keep them in place rather than fiddly fasteners as you see on some designs, which are always a pain to attach and detach all the time. An important factor in that friction fit is that they are a very snug in each of their alcoves. Meaning they don’t wobble about in any direction, which also helps keep the watches secure. A minor downside is that you have to watch out for any bulky buckles that stop the cushions sitting perfectly but that’s truly only the smallest observation.

Bravo Gradient Watch Box

The Bravo Gradient Watch Box in all its variants is priced at $240 (approx. £180). At that price it’s a very attractive option as watch boxes are something you can easily spend upward of £500 or even £1,000 on while fundamentally offering the exact same utility. Plus, the build quality still feels really luxury with no errant threads or loose lining. A fantastic addition for any watch collector.
